Taiwan NT$8,000 Repeat Visitor Lucky Draw: Eligibility & How to Register (Oct 2026 to Mar 2027)

Updated October 26, 2026: Taiwan’s repeat-visitor incentive is now live as “Return to Taiwan, Double Your Luck” (重遊臺灣．福氣加倍). Registration opened on October 1, 2026. Independent travelers arriving from October 10, 2026 to March 31, 2027 can enter a weekly lucky draw for up to NT$8,000. It is a draw, so not everyone who registers will receive the credit.

Who is eligible?

According to the official campaign site, the program is for independent international travelers who:

Enter Taiwan on a non-ROC passport.
Stay in Taiwan for 3 to 90 days.
Are not traveling in a travel-agency tour group, or in a group that received another group subsidy.

According to Trip.com’s guide (September 2026), a repeat visitor must have entered Taiwan at least once since January 1, 2023. A companion must not have visited Taiwan since January 1, 2023, and their travel dates must overlap.

How to register and claim the credit

The steps below combine the official site and Trip.com’s guide:

Register at 5000.taiwan.net.tw 7 to 90 days before your arrival.
Wait for the weekly draw on Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Winners receive an email.
Complete online verification, including proof of a return ticket, to receive a QR code.
In Taiwan, bring the QR code, your passport and your own EasyCard, iPASS or icash 2.0 to a 7-Eleven to load the credit.

Why is Taiwan targeting repeat visitors?

According to the Taiwan Tourism Administration, the policy aims to:

Encourage international visitors to return to Taiwan.
Boost regional travel, cultural experiences, and visitor spending.
Strengthen the MICE segment and business-exchange activity.

ITIJ (September 14, 2026) reported that the incentive is part of a NT$3.33 billion tourism package. The package also offers NT$10,000 to NT$30,000 for groups of at least four people in which at least 10% are repeat visitors.

Our analysis: Unlike earlier campaigns that focused on first-time arrivals, this plan targets repeat visitors. That group tends to stay longer, travel beyond Taipei into regional destinations, and spend more per trip.

Japan: a key market for Taiwan tourism

According to the reporting, Japan remains one of Taiwan’s most important source markets:

In 2025, roughly 1.5 million Japanese visitors traveled to Taiwan.
That was an increase of more than 12% year on year.
It marked a recovery to nearly 70% of pre-pandemic levels.
From July 1, 2026, Japan halves its adult passport application fee, which is expected to encourage more outbound Japanese travel.

The published rules exclude no nationality other than ROC passport holders. Travelers who visited Taiwan since 2023, including Vietnamese travelers, can register if they travel independently. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Is the NT$8,000 incentive cash?

No. The credit is loaded onto an EasyCard, iPASS or icash 2.0 card at 7-Eleven, for spending in Taiwan.

Is everyone who registers guaranteed the credit?

No. Winners are drawn every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Only winners receive the credit.

When does the program run?

Registration opened at 10:00 on October 1, 2026 (Taiwan time). The program covers arrivals from October 10, 2026 to March 31, 2027, or until the budget runs out.

Can tour group travelers apply?

No. The official site excludes travelers in travel-agency tour groups.
